Willis Wiedel Honored as Top leader in Large Company Category
October 12, 2020 – Lakewood, CO — During a virtual ceremony in early September, the Denver Post named the 150 top places to work in Colorado and gave several specialty awards based on employee engagement surveys completed in late 2019. Encore Electric placed third on the list of large companies. Encore Electric President Willis Wiedel was also honored individually as the Top Leader in the Large Company category.

“Congratulations to all of the companies in the Top Workplaces,” said Wiedel. “We are honored and humbled to be among these great organizations.”

Encore Electric received this recognition for the second year in a row, while the placement at Number Three is new. The list spans various sizes of companies and includes Encore Electric customers, partners, and others in the construction industry as well as other industries.

“We study engagement to understand our employees and what is important to them,” said Wiedel. “I believe our engagement is high because of our culture and the way we create opportunities to build fulfilling careers and to form strong relationships with each other and with our customers.”

Regarding his personal recognition as Top Leader, Encore Electric President Willis Wiedel expressed gratitude to Encore Electric employees, the Denver Post and their data partner, Energage.

“I am humbled, and I am grateful to all Encore Electric employees for their confidence in me,” said Wiedel. “This honor belongs to each and every one of you. You work hard to make us who we are and you live the Encore Electric values every day.”

Hundreds of employers in Colorado are considered for the Top Workplaces each year following their participation in an employee engagement survey. The Denver Post selects the top 150 and each specialty recognition based on survey results as reported by their data partner, Energage. Companies taking the survey learn about their own employees’ engagement as well as employee opinions about training and development, collaboration, decision-making processes, and leadership practices.
