Encore Electric provided all electrical and fire alarm for the new facility, which was constructed in phases. For the jail, 75% of the project was new construction, while 25% involved renovating existing space. The existing jail was remodeled with a significant expansion on its living and operational facilities. The jail expansion included the addition of a new kitchen, loading docks, central utility plant, a two-story booking area, officer training rooms, break rooms, and locker rooms.

When dealing with the electrical infrastructure within a prison, it was crucial to prioritize the safety and security of both inmates and staff at Larimer County Jail. To ensure no potential accidents occurred, and sensitive areas remained protected from unauthorized access, Encore Electric adopted a strategic approach to planning and executing electrical shutdowns and other significant electrical work.
