More Than 300 Teammates Volunteered Making Encore Gives! Day 2026 the Largest Event Yet
September 23, 2026 – CO, WY, MT, & UT – More than 300 Encore Electric teammates and their families volunteered their time on Saturday, September 12 for the ninth annual Encore Gives! Day. Encore Electric partnered with 15 different organizations across Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Utah so teammates could give back to the communities where they live and work. From completing electrical projects for nonprofits like the Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless to sorting donations at The Action Center and picking up trash along the Eagle River in the Colorado Mountains and Triple Tree Trail in Montana, Encore Electric teammates took on a wide range of projects to support local nonprofits and communities.
“Encore Gives! Day is my favorite Encore tradition. This year, we helped prepare hundreds of food boxes for senior citizens, and it was meaningful to know we were making a difference in our community. Care & Share’s welcoming team makes the experience both enjoyable and impactful. It’s a great opportunity to give back, connect with coworkers, and show that Encore truly cares,” said Monica Logan, Encore Electric project engineer and Encore Gives! Day 2026 team captain at Care & Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs.
“The organization, people, and what they do are simply amazing. I was truly humbled by their story and am grateful to have participated in what a day looks like for them,” said Tom Waltemath, Encore Electric director of the Technology Solutions business unit and Encore Gives! Day team captain at The Action Center in Lakewood, CO.
While Encore Electric partnered with new organizations for Encore Gives! Day 2026, the team also reconnected with familiar faces and causes that have touched their hearts in years past, including Colorado Youth Outdoors in northern Colorado. This is the third Encore Gives! Day at Colorado Youth Outdoors, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening relationships through outdoor activities.
“We all love the outdoors. Growing up, learning to hunt and fish, and having those relationships with family members, especially dads, it’s a core memory for a lot of our craft,” said Ryan Cropp, Encore Electric project manager and an Encore Gives! Day 2026 team captain. “Last year, I think Colorado Youth Outdoors served over 15,000 kids. It’s all about relationship building. That is their core value, which aligns with ours at Encore Electric: team head of the individual.”
Another organization Encore Electric teammates and their families support year after year is the Eagle River Cleanup that is organized by the Eagle River Coalition. This tradition is especially meaningful to the team in the Colorado mountains because of their dedication to reduce the company’s construction-related environmental footprint through green construction initiatives created by the Encore Electric Green Team.
“The Eagle River Cleanup is an annual tradition for Encore Electric employees, their families and friends, that predates Encore Gives! Day. We had 35 participants this year, collected 36 bags of trash, covered about 10 miles of riverbank, and won the most unusual trash award,” said Tammy Chambers, Encore Electric project coordinator, Encore Gives! Day team captain, and Green Team member. “The Eagle River Cleanup is more than just trash removal; it’s a living example of stewardship.”
In addition to the volunteer work done on Encore Gives! Day, Encore Electric also donated $2,000 to each partner organization to help further their mission.
Among this year’s volunteer teams, the Saint James Episcopal Church Food Bank team stands out for its incredible participation. There were 24 teammates and family members who registered to volunteer at the food bank.
“Overall, it was a great day! I’m very proud of our team and how we all came together to support the St. James Episcopal Church. The team camaraderie was amazing and how well all worked together as a team,” said Toby Burley, Encore Electric director of the Utah business unit. “We even had three families help distribute the food we stocked the day before to over 130 families on Sunday, the day after. Big thanks to Kevin VanLandingham for staying in front of this and getting the team to commit to this day!”
“When they arrived, they jumped right in. They helped us set up the tents for our Sunday distribution and processed 11 pallets of food weighing nearly 12,000 pounds! Together, we bagged an entire pallet of chips and filled our shelves with nutritious food,” said Elaine Harris, Saint James Food Bank team leader. “At the end of the day on Saturday, we mentioned that we were a little short on volunteers for Sunday’s food distribution. Sure enough, many members of this same team showed up the next afternoon with big smiles, ready to set up, distribute food, and tear down the whole operation!”
The Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless is a new organization Encore Electric partnered with for the company-wide volunteer event. The team completed various tasks throughout the day including electrical projects, landscaping, and serving food.
“I just wanted to say thank you for volunteering at the Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless. Your willingness to sacrifice your time and abilities helped provide a safer place for those in our community who are often overlooked. As I was leaving on Saturday, both the residents and the volunteers kept saying how grateful they were for all that we did for them. You made a difference in the lives of people you may never meet or see, but who are impacted daily by your generosity,” said Joyce Hudson, Encore Electric foreman and Encore Gives! Day 2026 team captain.
“We are completely overwhelmed by the generosity of good people who simply want to help. This incredible donation of time, labor, and funds will enable us to continue supplementing our clients’ needs with healthy, shelf-stable food, as well as diapers and wipes for their families,” Harris said.
“Volunteering at GRRR was fun and rewarding—from painting, cleaning, weeding, and organizing to playing with and washing the puppies, every moment felt meaningful and truly appreciated,” said Shannon Geier, Encore Electric executive assistant and team captain for the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR).
