Denver Service Continues to Meet Electrical Needs for Customer BAND-IT

May 26, 2026 – Denver, CO — While the Encore Electric team builds complex and challenging work across four states, Encore Electric service departments often work to maintain these facilities, and customer relationships, long after a project is completed. Service teams also maintain existing buildings that Encore Electric didn’t originally build, resulting in technicians working in a wide range of facilities with different electrical systems and equipment. By meeting the unique needs of each customer, Encore Electric has a handful of core customers that rely on the company for all their electrical work. For Denver service, one of these customers is BAND-IT, a leader in stainless steel clamps and fastening products.

Denver service has built a strong, trust-based relationship with BAND-IT through quality work, reliable scheduling, and clear communication. Since 2022, Encore Electric has been the primary electrical contractor for all service work in the BAND-IT facility.

At any one time, the Denver service team has multiple projects in motion. One of the current projects is upgrading the systems to meet the requirements of the Energize Denver ordinance, which requires buildings 25,000 square feet and larger in the City and County of Denver to improve their energy efficiency by 2032.

To help the building meet the requirements of Energize Denver, Encore Electric technicians conducted a survey of the facility to understand current energy use and where changes need to be made. Since that survey, the team has been helping BAND-IT plan for infrastructure upgrades, like a new lighting control system and new electrical services to support current and future electrical loads more efficiently. The team is also helping the facility make small adjustments like replacing all fluorescent lights with LEDs.

In addition to aligning the facility with the Energize Denver ordinance, Encore Electric service technicians have moved and wired equipment to increase efficiency and have provided safety training to BAND-IT employees.

For all core clients, the service department ensures their facilities keep up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, which includes the requirement for maintaining an up-to-date coordination study. During these studies, technicians label each piece of equipment with a sticker indicating the arc flash risk level and identifying the required personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating it. For BAND-IT, the service team conducted arc flash studies as well as provided an extra layer of safety training for employees.

“We have helped them with arc flash studies for the whole facility, and we’ve been providing arc flash training to the BAND-IT employees,” said Casey Kerr, senior account manager for Denver service. “We have been providing these safety trainings about once a year for the last three years. The trainings happen when they are either doing a refresh or training new employees.”

The Denver service technicians who have been consistently servicing the facility are Garrett Feeser, Jason Wicker, and James McNown.

Because of the quality work, communication, and the relationship the service team has built with BAND-IT, the Encore Electric Technology Solutions team has also completed work around the facility including relocating network switches, and running guidelines for computers, machines, and printers.

One of the Encore Electric core values is Principle, which is rooted in honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior. By providing excellent service and leading with this core value, BAND-IT trusts the Encore Electric service team and their recommendations.

“It’s a great facility for us to work in and we’re kind of blessed to have customers like them,” Kerr said. “I’m glad I get to be a part of it.”
