Encore Electric Sponsors Scholarship in Honor of Former Employee, Teammate, and Friend

November 10, 2022 – Lakewood, CO — Bob Bergman was a longtime teammate, friend, and family member of Encore Electric. After Bob’s passing in 2021, his teammates at Encore Electric looked to maintain his legacy within the community and were inspired to create the Encore Electric Bob Bergman Memorial scholarship.

Bob was a lifelong rancher and horse lover. He volunteered for many years mentoring young people, teaching them the value of hard work and perseverance by working with horses.

“Bob loved horses and the simpler, but not easier, life of a rancher,” said Pete Palmgren, Colorado Mountains business unit leader. “He always would volunteer to help mentor the youth and show them how to work hard, work smart and be proud of who you are. Never afraid to take a challenge head on, Bob lived life to the very end.”

Bob passed away after volunteering with the Colorado State High School Rodeo Finals in the summer of 2021. In honor of his involvement in the Colorado youth rodeo community, the scholarship was funded to continue to give back to youth in Bob’s name. The memorial scholarship helps fund continuing education goals for rodeo winners.

“Bob was a very unique project manager for Encore Electric,” said Willis Wiedel, Encore Electric CEO. “Technically he was very sound and demanded quality installation for the customer. He knew how to motivate his people. He was a mentor and a coach to his crew, and they loved working for him. He had high expectations and demanded excellence. His reputation preceded him on every project. We miss Bob. He was a good soul and a good friend.”

This year the scholarship was divided between four members of the Eastern Plains High School Rodeo team, each attending universities with plans to stay involved in the rodeo community this fall:
