Dominican Home Health Agency Serves Sick and Poor Seniors in Their Own Homes

August 19, 2021 – Denver, Colo. – Eighteen Encore Electric volunteers recently took their own time to help an organization doing good works for seniors around the Denver Metro area.

The volunteer event, held over two days on two weekends in April and May, was held at the Dominican Home Health Agency, 2501 Gaylord St., Denver. In 2020, the Dominican Home Health Agency provided more than 7,000 in-home patient care visits to 171 patients, all in the middle of a global pandemic.

The organization currently works out of a facility in the City Park West neighborhood of Denver that has needed repairs for years. The two teams worked throughout both volunteer days to complete a laundry list of items that should help the facility be more functional and comfortable for the staff who works inside. Their tasks included:

  • Adding power outlets
  • Painting two bathrooms
  • Retrofit of 15 can lights
  • Removal and install of four surface mount 2×4 fixtures
  • Removal of 14 1×4 strip fixtures
  • Install of five semi-custom long surface mount fixtures

  • Troubleshooting of lighting circuit.
