Projects and Teammates in Colorado and Montana Receive Industry Awards
February 19, 2026 – CO & MT — Encore Electric project teams received awards for community-centered projects in 2025, including a hospital expansion project specializing in cardiovascular services, a beer garden renovation of a repurposed historic building in Denver, an airport terminal in Montana that will better serve local residents and tourists, and more! In addition to these award-winning projects, three Encore Electric teammates were recognized for their leadership.
West Yellowstone Airport
Encore Electric helped power the new 35,000 sq. ft. terminal building at Yellowstone Airport, which is owned and operated by the Montana Department of Transportation. The multi-year, $46 million construction project updated and expanded the seasonal airport to better serve local residents and tourists who enjoy nearby Yellowstone National Park and the region’s other popular outdoor adventures, resorts, and communities.
“It’s great to be part of the transformation of the airport, which supports the local economy and community,” said Encore Electric Superintendent Michael Finch, who oversaw the project. “We also helped make the facility more comfortable for passengers, as well as airport staff who now have a new terminal with offices, a breakroom, and more space to do their work and serve customers.”

Glenwood Springs Maintenance Facility
Encore Electric partnered with the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA), the second largest transit agency in Colorado, to expand the regional transit center located in Glenwood Springs. To meet the growing demand for public transportation, address operational deficiencies, and support a transition to zero-emission buses, Encore Electric provided design-assist services and all the electrical work for the $42 million expansion.
“It was definitely a ‘One Encore’ type of mentality out there,” said Technology Solutions Project Manager Ben Bohl. “Having the Technology Solutions team that I had and the field team was really, really beneficial to pushing this one across the finish line. Especially in those last few months, we ramped up and had a solid crew that was able to focus on the task at hand and get everything finished.”

AdventHealth Littleton Heart and Vascular Tower and CUP Expansion
Over the last few decades as surrounding communities have grown, AdventHealth Littleton has continued to expand to meet the growing need for healthcare in the area. Encore Electric partnered with Saunders Construction to power the expansion of AdventHealth Littleton Heart and Vascular Tower and central utility plant – bringing new lab spaces, procedure rooms, operating rooms, a 24-bed ICU for cardiac care and support spaces, all allowing for current and future expansion of the hospital’s cardiovascular department.
“I’m a Colorado native, it’s nice to be able to do work and contribute to a community I’ve grown up in,” said Senior Project Manager Kevin Kosters.

Schoolyard Beer Garden at Evans School
Encore Electric helped transform the historic Evans School, which has mostly been vacant since the 1970s, to a lively beer garden located in the Golden Triangle in Denver. The Beer Garden and Café was recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Mountain States & Southwest as the Best Small Project. The transformed Evans School also features event spaces for wedding receptions, corporate gatherings, award ceremonies, and more.
“Encore Electric and Hyder Construction completed a three-phase renovation of a repurposed historic 1904 Denver Public School. The project scope included a beer garden, cafe, owner office suite, and event space, all executed under the oversight of the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission,” said Project Manager Josh Gilmore. “Beyond the technical installation, the project provided a retrospective on the electrical trade; demolition exposed a history of electrical evolution, ranging from knob-and-tube wiring to early fused panels.”

United Flight Training Center
In 2025, Encore Electric was recognized nationally for the low-voltage work completed on the United Flight Training Center, a facility that operates 20 hours a day, 362 days a year, with shutdowns only for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. The team provided design-assist, power, lightning protection, fire alarm system, construction management services, and the installation of 12 flight simulators for this 150,000 square foot training facility.
“Seeing the project come to a close and being able to see the SIMs fully functional is really cool,” said Ken Pease, Encore Electric service technician. “Knowing the pilots come to this facility from all over the world to use these SIMs is a really big deal and it is something our team ought to be proud of.”

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital
At two award ceremonies in 2025, Encore Electric was recognized for the state-of-the-art medical center that expands and modernizes emergency care and healthcare access across the region. The 658,000 square-foot hospital has 247 patient beds, 10 operating rooms, and the newest healthcare technology to care for the growing community.
“The project team was dedicated to a ‘BIM, Fab, Build’ approach,” said Prefabrication Manager Jordie Klosterman. “Utilizing the BIM model and preplanning before structure was in place allowed for prefabrication to perform work, stage, and store to stay ahead of the field team. Prefabrication was an extension of the field team and helped the field team stay focused with building and installing. The collaboration on this project set the standard for how prefabrication, virtual design in construction, and project teams can work together.”

This learning facility features a dental simulation lab that provides students with hands-on training opportunities as they begin their dental careers.
“This project provided an excellent opportunity to leverage ‘One Encore,’” said Travis Seabolt, Encore Electric project manager. “The team addressed all electrical, power, lighting, lighting control, access control, CCTV, fire alarm and coordinated power and connections to owner-furnished medical equipment. We also installed all the voice/data and audiovisual aspects of the project.”
