Volunteer Efforts Were Strong All Summer as Employees Donated Time and Resources

September 13, 2022 – Lakewood, CO Saturday September 10, 2022 was the Fifth Annual Encore Gives! Day, a day Encore Electric dedicates to serving the communities where we live and work. 86 Encore Electric volunteers gathered across the Rocky Mountain West to support their communities, making this the largest Encore Gives! Day on record.

Teammates and their families participated in seven different volunteer events this year, including the Tennyson Center for Children, Colorado Youth Outdoors, Jovial Concepts, Care and Share Food Bank, St James Episcopal Church Food Bank, Eagle River Clean Up, and Gallatin River Clean Up. Volunteers did a wide range of activities, including gardening, electrical work, major river cleanup and more.

From a fishing net Anthony Lujan pulled from the Eagle River to a pet dinosaur, to a kitchen countertop that Ryan Krueger carried all the way to the dump site, we have yet to win the award for most interesting piece of trash found in the Eagle River (it was a knife wielding beaver),” said David Scott, director of human resources. “The day was rewarding for everyone involved and a 32-year river guide told our group how much he appreciates our efforts.”

Despite the hard work and determination to make an impact on the day of giving, volunteers savored the time spent building memories with their coworkers, families, and friends.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday in September,” said Scott. “Encore shows up and Encore gives!

From the projects we build to the community organizations we partner with, Encore Electric strives to be a pillar of good that our people can rely on.

It’s amazing to work for a company that supports this effort,” said Christine Romero, senior executive assistant. “Most of us do something personally to support our communities. But working side by side with coworkers from the field and the office makes this event even more special. There is a special feeling that comes from volunteering – it’s addictive!

Encore Electric is committed to serving our communities not only on Encore Gives! Day, but year-round through building impactful projects and staying engaged in community efforts.

Encore Electric teams stayed busy throughout the summer at many volunteer events, including Climbing for Kids to raise awareness for the Pediatric Mental Health Institute, the Empty Bowls Luncheon with the Vail Valley Salvation Army, and more.

“Encore universally upholds our core values of People, Principle, Strength, and Service both in the workplace and outside of it, and it has not gone unnoticed,” said Encore Electric Project Engineer Jessica Linder.

We look forward to continuing to spread good in our communities through the rest of the year until our next Encore Gives! Day.
