Annual National Apprenticeship Week Celebrations Recognize and Elevate Registered Apprenticeships Across the USA
November 22, 2024 – Lakewood, CO — This year marks the 10th anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), an important week of recognition that has helped elevate the impacts of an apprenticeship. At Encore Electric and across the construction industry, apprentices play a critical role on our teams, aiding the completion of complex projects and building the future of the industry.
This NAW, hear from seven Encore Electric apprentices on why they decided to pursue an apprenticeship with Encore Electric:
“I chose an apprenticeship with Encore Electric to expand my career and knowledge of electrical work. Coming from the general contractor side of construction, I have always enjoyed electrical work so becoming a part of Encore Electric was vital for my next step in my future.”

“I got into the trade because of my dad – the smartest, best electrician I’ve ever met. My goal was and is to be better than he was!”

“I got into electrical because I always wanted to work with my hands, I just wasn’t sure which way to go with it. I ended up watching Mike Rowe (host of Dirty Jobs) testify to US Congress about that trade shortage. His reverent speech for the trades and the people that work in them inspired me to change careers and pursue a job in electrical. And I’m happy I did because he was right: the people are amazing, and the job is rewarding.”

“I chose to pursue an electrical apprenticeship as a means of challenging myself with a trade that I knew very little about and setting myself up in a successful career. Now that I’m well into my apprenticeship, I see how rewarding it can be and I’m ready for the next step.”
Kurtis Noonan

“I chose to do my apprenticeship with Encore because of all the great things I heard about the culture and how they treat their employees. I was looking for a change from restaurant work to something that felt like a career, not just a job. Encore has provided me with a great career path that I’m very excited about and I feel like I get to be a part of something bigger than myself every day!”
