More than 250 Teammates and Their Families Gave Back to Their Community

September 18, 2025 – Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah — Encore Electric held its largest Encore Gives! Day event on September 6, 2025 with more than 250 teammates and their families volunteering with various organizations in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Montana. Across those four states, Encore Electric teammates impacted 11 organizations by completing various volunteer efforts like picking up trash along the Highland Glen Trail in Bozeman, Montana, sorting food at the Care and Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs, and helping Tall Tales Ranch in Lakewood, Colorado with their mass mailing.

“Waking up every day, going to work day in and day out, it’s easy to overlook what a beautiful place we live in. It was great to see our Encore families give back to our community helping to try to keep this place beautiful,” said Bill Frye, Encore Electric director of Montana. “On this highly used trail, our teams ran into many bikers and hikers. They all thanked us for being out there cleaning up the trail system. That proved to me that we are doing something good that makes a difference.”

The largest volunteer group for Encore Gives! Day was at the Cheyenne Boys & Girls Club where the Encore Electric team picked up trash, removed bushes and weeds, and helped with preventative electrical maintenance.

“When we walked the Boys & Girls Club with Chris, their facility manager, the wish list was long. However, the northern Encore team showed up like I’ve never seen. We had over 40 employees and their family members show up. They came to work and because of their selfless giving of time and efforts we were able to complete every item on their list!” said Rebecca Boden, Encore Electric project coordinator in Cheyenne.

This year for Encore Gives! Day, Encore Electric joined hands with new organizations like the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR) in Arvada, while also reconnecting with the familiar faces and causes that have touched hearts in years past including the Eagle River Coalition, Jovial Concepts, Elite Equine Rescue, Harvest Farm, Colorado Youth Outdoors, and the Saint James Episcopal Church Food Bank in Utah.

“We had an amazing team that came together and got way more than expected done at the rescue! It was a huge success and GRRR was extremely grateful! Thanks to our amazing team,” said Wade Stencel, Encore Electric chief operations officer.

This year marks the eighth annual Encore Gives! Day, a day dedicated to volunteering, and giving back to the communities where teammates live and work. What started out as a small volunteer effort has bloomed into a strong community initiative that continues to make a real impact.

“Generosity lives in every corner of this organization. We’ve seen numerous examples through the years through donations of time and incredible talent and financial contributions to our community. That was inspiring, and we thought that if we could volunteer across our geographies and include our families, it would be a way to have a huge impact on our hometowns all at the same time,” said Meg Vanderlaan, Encore Electric chief marketing officer. “It is so incredible to realize how many people have been involved during the last eight years. Together, we have made a difference!”

In previous years, the Encore Electric team in Utah volunteered with the Saint James Episcopal Church Food Bank for Encore Gives! Day, but this year’s volunteer day took a creative turn with a paint party in the pantry. With a fresh coat of paint, the pantry is brighter, the areas are clean and uplifting, and the renewed space will encourage visitors to volunteer and donate.

“The help of the four wonderful young people who assisted with raking leaves, stacking bricks, and even helped with the paint and cleanup inside was outstanding! The hard work and camaraderie demonstrated by everyone involved are a testament to your company,” said Elaine Harris, Saint James Food Bank team leader.

“It was a blessing to be able to help out our community. Seeing both our employees and the community welcome each other as family and work alongside one another with a common goal, having fun at giving back,” said Kevin Vanlandingham, Encore Electric foreman in Utah.
