Innovative Projects and Safety Initiatives Recognized in April 2025

April 24, 2025 – Lakewood, CO — Encore Electric is excited to announce that in a one-week period, the company earned a national AGC safety award from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and three projects received awards at the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) Summit Award Banquet. Encore Electric continuously builds state-of-the-art facilities using advanced technology and power systems all while staying on schedule, within budget, and most importantly, keeping the project teams safe.

“We are honored to be recognized by CSEA and IEC Rocky Mountain. These awards reflect our teams’ dedication to delivering exceptional projects with a strong focus on safety. We couldn’t be prouder of the entire team’s hard work and passion,” said Encore Electric President Andy Gordon.

AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA)
With safety being a top priority, Encore Electric is proud to have earned second place in the Specialty Contractor, 2.25 million – 5 million Work Hours category.

Each year, the CSEA recognizes contractors across the United States for developing and implementing health and safety programs that keep construction teams and projects safe. These AGC Safety Awards are well-known in the construction industry as being the standard for which safe work practices are judged.

“We’re proud to have earned second place in the AGC’s Construction Excellence Awards – this reflects the daily commitment our teammates make to protecting one another. This recognition highlights the strength of our safety culture and our continued drive to lead by example in the industry,” said Mike Callison, Encore Electric director of safety.

“I want to thank everyone for the strong safety culture that you support every day,” said Marlin Linder, Encore Electric executive vice president. “To be recognized by AGC as being one of the safest contractors in the United States is a testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication.”

Encore Electric continues to build and support a safety culture, where every teammate looks out for one another and feels empowered to speak up whenever something seems unsafe.

“Being selected as a top performer nationally for our safety culture and our safety record is only possible because of the countless decisions that our teams make on our projects every day. This award belongs to everyone for their daily dedication to safety,” said Jeffrey Engelstad, Encore Electric director of engineering services. “It also serves as a reminder that there is always room to improve and to continue leading our industry by delivering results to our customers, safely.”

IECRM Summit Award Banquet
Earlier this month at the Summit Award Banquet, IECRM celebrated excellence in the electrical contracting industry by recognizing innovative projects and people. The following projects received awards:

United Flight Training Center
The 150,000 square foot state-of-the-art training space project, which heavily relied on the Encore Electric Technology Solutions team, received the ‘Low-Voltage/Limited Energy Systems Automation & Controls’ 2025 award.

“I think we were successful because we truly had a full team approach to the project. There were consistent challenges that we approached together to accomplish the best outcome,” said Tim Leuch, Encore Electric project manager. “Consistency, attention to detail, good communication, and an overall professional drive created success here on site.”

Encore Electric construction and technology solutions teams provided design-assist services, power, lightning protection, fire alarm, technology construction management services, and installation of 12 flight simulators (SIMs). This was an important project for Encore Electric as well as United Airlines who set an ambitious goal to recruit and train another 10,000 pilots by 2030.

Intermountain Health Lutheran Replacement Hospital
Another project that received recognition was the Intermountain Health Lutheran Replacement Hospital which won the ‘Commercial Construction for More than $10 million’ award. The 658,000 square-foot-hospital features the newest healthcare technology to care for the growing community.

“The team who worked on this hospital worked thousands of hours and gave our customer a beautiful facility that can serve the community for many years to come. The attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile showed in the final product,” said Jason Becker, Encore Electric project manager. “It is truly an honor to receive this award and it was earned by each and every electrician that was working on this project.”

“The Lutheran Replacement project was an example of the true ‘One Encore’ approach. This was a difficult, technical, and fast-paced project that required the team to function as a unit. The level of collaboration between technology solutions and the construction team was astounding and truly enabled us to deliver something that we can be proud of, on time and on budget,” said Hunter Lasko, Encore Electric Technology Services project manager. “Without all of our great people, we could never have accomplished something like this.”

Not only did Encore Electric construction and technology solutions teams collaborate to make this project successful, but the Prefabrication and Tool Center also played a vital role. In total, the project team placed more than 930 orders resulting in 17,842 prefabrication hours – hours saved on the project site.

Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center
The Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center received the ‘Commercial Construction $500K-$2M’ award. For this community-focused project, Encore Electric partnered with Pikes Peak State College and Delta Dental to bring a cutting-edge dental simulation lab, providing students with hands-on training before they begin their careers.

Encore Electric Pikes Peak project receives award

“I’m excited we won this award because the project took dedication, and the crew out there put a lot of work into it,” said Travis Seabolt, Encore Electric project manager. “With Pikes Peak being a college, there was a different dynamic between the customer and the crew. The crew was invested in the project and took pride in it.”

“For this particular integration, we spent a lot of time with the SimLab vendor to understand their system and the various A/V component that it needed to function. The results from those efforts from both our engineers and technicians is truly something to be proud of,” said Luke Edwards, Encore Electric preconstruction manager. “Overall, it was a thrilling project to be part of from start to finish and Pikes Peak State College was a fantastic client to build with.”

Encore Electric provided all electrical, power, lighting, lighting control, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and coordinated power and connections to owner-furnished medical equipment.

Congratulations to all the teammates who worked on these projects to make them a success with an AGC Safety Award and IECRM Awards!
