More than 180 Teammates, Family Members Volunteer on September 7, 2024

September 19, 2024 –Colorado, Montana, Utah, Wyoming Working alongside other members of the community, Encore Electric held the largest Encore Gives! Day ever on September 7, 2024, with more than 180 teammates and family members giving their own time to make the places where we live and work better.

Held at 11 sites across Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming, teammates who helped during Encore Gives! Day 2024 cleaned up graffiti, picked up trash, helped at food banks, worked outside with horses and landscaping, completed lighting and power projects, and even helped to clean up rivers. The number of volunteers was a record for Encore Gives! Day, and more than doubled last year’s record volunteer turnout.

In Montana, Nick Legolvan, Senior Project Manager, helped to lead a team that cleaned up Highway 191 in Gallatin River Canyon. “We had a solid turnout, and everyone was excited to be helping keep some of the scenes of our daily commute beautiful,” he said. “It was great reminder of how lucky we are to live and work where do.”

At Jovial Concepts in Morrison, teams helped restore a new bee and pollinator garden, as well as taking care of landscaping tasks.

“This is Jovial Concept’s first full season at their new place, where they have their own grounds,” said Sarah Franklin, Senior Marketing Communications Content Specialist. “For a lot of us, this was our second or third year volunteering with this organization, so it was fun to be with a similar group and be with people who know Jovial Concept’s vision.”

The team in Cheyenne had a whopping 27 teammates and family members participate! The team included people currently working on data center projects, in service & special projects, VDC and even some all the way from Denver. After the team did their work picking up trash, they held a potluck style picnic for volunteers.

“Bob did a great job smoking the meat and others pitched in and brought the sides and dessert. Overall, it went really well,” said Joyce Hudson, Journeyman.

In the Colorado Mountains, volunteers dedicated their time to the Eagle River Coalition. This yearly effort has become a tradition for the Colorado Mountains team, and they celebrated after with a Thank You BBQ. One person even won the prize for finding the strangest item during the cleanup.

“Thank you all for coming up for the River Clean up. We had great fun and a bunch of laughs,” said Pete Palmgren, Director of the Colorado Mountains for Encore Electric. “Congratulations to Dave (Scott) for the bike trainer which won the coveted traveling singing fish trophy. It will be in the Eagle office for all to see (and hear).”

In addition to these events, teammates and their families volunteered at Elite Equine Rescue and Care and Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs, at Mount Saint Vincent Home in Denver, at the Food Bank of Larimer County and Colorado Youth Outdoors in Fort Collins, at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission Harvest Farm in Wellington, and at St. James Episcopal Church Food Bank in Midvale, Utah.

Thank you to all the volunteers and their families who came to the events of Encore Gives! Day 2024 and made a real difference in their communities. Encore Gives! Day is truly the epitome of the four Encore Electric Core Values of People, Principle, Strength, and Service.
