Nottingham, General Counsel for Encore Electric, Brings Legal Expertise to Position

May 12, 2020 – Lakewood, CO — Encore Electric is proud to announce that Jim Nottingham, Vice President of Risk Management & General Counsel, has joined the Board of Directors for the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

ACC Colorado provides exceptional learning and networking opportunities for in-house attorneys all over Colorado.

“This opportunity to serve my peers as a member of the Board of Directors for ACC Colorado means a great deal to me.  The issues and challenges that in-house attorneys face are complex and unique.  The ACC Board is a great network of in-house attorneys from a wide variety of companies and industries.  There is an emphasis on learning and idea sharing with a unique focus on in-house life,” said Nottingham. “I’m excited to contribute to this great organization and further its mission.”

The organization has more than 800 members and is one of the founding chapters of the National Association of Corporate Counsel. In addition to providing advocacy services, ACC Colorado provides networking, group sessions and more to help those working as corporate counsel understand the unique challenges inherent to a career in the industry.

In addition to its advocacy work, the organization provides volunteer opportunities for these legal professionals to provide pro bono work to nonprofits and other organizations in need throughout Colorado.

Nottingham attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. After college, Jim worked for a United States Senator in Washington, D.C. Nottingham attended the University of Denver College of Law where he served as a Staff Editor on the University of Denver Law Review. After law school, Nottingham worked at a law firm where he served as Encore’s outside attorney for many years prior to making the transition to join Encore Electric as member of the team.

For several years, Nottingham was a proud member of the Arapahoe Basin Volunteer Ski Patrol. He also currently serves as a Board Member for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and on the Legislative Committee for the Associated General Contractors. He is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.
