Golden Water Treatment Plant – Golden, Colorado

Project Scope: Replace the electrical service to the five buildings on site.
A unique project challenge was to maintain power to the water treatment plant while replacing the main electrical service equipment. Encore Electric reduced the duration of the conversion from 30 days to 10 days with coordination and planning.
Encore Fabrication Services built the E-House, which is an electrical distribution building consisting of main switch gear, motor starters, variable frequency drives, branch distribution, battery backup or UPS (uninterruptable power supply) and a PLC (programmable logic controller) cabinet for the new service equipment.
Interesting Fact: The water plant can make up to 12 million gallons of safe drinking water every day! That’s as much water as 90 households use in a year!
