Technology Solutions Team Camouflages Work in Western Styled HQ Building
April 15, 2026 – Denver, CO — The National Western recently added The Legacy to its campus in Denver, creating a world headquarters for National Western and a gathering place for members, volunteers, and board and staff of National Western. Featuring conference rooms, office spaces, eight bars, and even a humidity-controlled art gallery, The Legacy is designed to host a wide variety of gatherings and is a premier venue for meetings and events. To accommodate the various events and uses of the building, the Encore Electric Technology Solutions team completed all low-voltage work, including audio/visual (AV), security, structured cabling, and access control.

A large part of the interest in the National Western Stock Show is the history behind it, with the first event dating back to 1906. From the vintage signage that tells a story in The Legacy Saloon to the framed black and white photographs of influential stock show association members, The Legacy’s intentional design, art, and western style reflect that rich history.

A unique challenge for the Technology Solutions team was camouflaging all the low-voltage equipment and materials, so it didn’t take away from the vintage western style and historic character. The team heavily researched materials like speakers, cameras, screens, microphones, and cables that could easily hide in plain sight in the different custom areas.
“One of the most interesting parts of this project, and most challenging, was the integration into the overall finish layout. The architect was pretty insistent on AV being as invisible as possible,” said Josh Dasher, Encore Electric Technology Solutions engineering manager. “That leads to a bunch of projectors and screens that disappear into the ceiling and speakers that are tucked away into woodwork.”
When entering the lobby of The Legacy, there is a custom wood slat ceiling where the team hid essential technology like speakers. One of the large conference rooms features an open ceiling, and the team found specific black cabling that is easily concealed above head.
For a typical project, the Technology Solutions team will order materials from 10 to 15 different manufacturers. To successfully blend in with the western style, the team ordered from 44 different manufacturers and purchased over 500 unique AV and telecom equipment assets.
“It was a material-heavy job that we were trying to hide in an environment where you couldn’t see the material,” said Tim Leuch, Encore Electric Technology Solutions project manager.
In addition to camouflaging materials, the Encore Electric team worked in close collaboration with The National Western to integrate technology tailored to the specific needs of each space. The team ensured the technology integrated throughout the building offered advanced capabilities while remaining fully functional and user-friendly.
“There’s around 250 different AV endpoints, so you can send video or audio anywhere in the whole building,” Dasher said. “They also have several combinable spaces where the system is built to adapt automatically, without someone having to tell it what to do, based on whether or not it senses that a wall is open.”
In these combinable spaces, the AV technology is able to seamlessly operate as two separate rooms or as a single room, making the space versatile for different event sizes. One of these large combinable spaces connects The Legacy to the already existing The Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Livestock Center CoBank Arena. This joined space overlooks the arena, offering a VIP experience for guests at The Legacy.

Another challenge the Technology Solutions team encountered was the strict, nonnegotiable timeline. Construction began in the fall of 2024, and The Legacy needed to be fully completed in time for the 2026 National Western Stock Show. To meet this deadline, the team quickly pivoted and problem solved when an unpredictable delay arose during construction.
For the 115,000 square foot building, the Technology Solutions team rose to the unique challenges of this project, found creative solutions, and delivered technology that supports both innovation and ease of use. Located on the National Western Center campus, The Legacy offers a glimpse into the western era and will be a cornerstone for the rodeo community for generations to come.
“It’s a celebration space for all of the people that have been part of the Stock Show,” Leuch said. “They are very, very proud of this building.”
