Quality Resources and Education

As a client of Encore, be assured that the people on your project are the best trained in the industry. In order to work for Encore Electric, each employee must pass our:

  • RIGOROUS INTERVIEW PROCESS
  • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
  • REFERENCE CHECKS
  • DRUG SCREENINGS

To make sure that they are physically able to perform the job, our craftsmen must also pass a comprehensive tools-on physical that simulates on-site working conditions. Once they join our team, employees are sent through an intensive two-day orientation where they are educated about:

  • Our company culture of open communication, collaboration, accountability and safety
  • Our safety standards, through training that is equivalent to an OSHA 10 hour course and taught by one of our OSHA Compliance Officers
  • Our education program, Encore University, which provides over 100 different no-cost courses offering our employees a unique opportunity to become the best-trained craftsmen in the business
  • Our extensive employee benefits and how to use them most effectively
As part of our in-house training, incoming apprentice electricians work in our Prefabrication Warehouse to learn the materials and tools of the trade. In addition to on-the-job training, apprentice electricians receive instruction through Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) by attending class one night a week during the school year. Encore Electric covers 100% of the tuition for this academic program.
Depending on the nature of the project, our employees are certified to work in the unique facilities in which our customers conduct business. As an example, our Healthcare Certified Electricians go through a 2-day course on the unique rules pertaining to healthcare. Healthcare Certified Electricians have 1000 hours of experience working in health care facilities. Their completion of this program is shared with our clients to ensure that they are getting the highest-caliber craftsmen.
