Encore Electric Teammates Support Students and the Cheyenne Community
September 10, 2025 – Cheyenne, WY — At the end of August, Encore Electric supported the fifth annual We Got Your Back event in Cheyenne, Wyoming to help local students as they head into the new school year. During the event, students visit various stations to pick up essential school supplies like backpacks, new shoes and clothes, and even receive services like haircuts and eyebrow care. It’s important for students to have the necessary school supplies to be successful, but it’s also vital for students to feel confident and supported in the upcoming school year.
“Over 1,000 families were impacted by this event,” said Safety Specialist David Martin, who introduced the We Got Your Back event to Encore Electric. “Backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, braids, shoes, glitter tattoos, eyebrow care for the girls, free food and fun were all provided by the generosity of all the vendors including Encore Electric, local barbers and hair stylists, big box store donations, and local food businesses.”
At the We Got Your Back event, Encore Electric had a booth and was promoting the electrical trade, engaging with families, and sharing career opportunities. The Encore Electric teammates who went out to support the event in addition to Martin included Talent Acquisition Manager Bryan Garver, Quality Assurance Journeyman Lead Joyce Hudson, and Safety Specialist Alonso Hijine.

“The We Got Your Back event was very well attended by the community. There were so many organizations and businesses that stepped up to help! The contribution and participation by Encore were greatly received and appreciated!” Garver said. “As a parent, it was very heartwarming to see so many kids walking away with a new backpack and get a new haircut! I was personally proud to be a part of a great effort!”
Supporting the We Got Your Back event not only helps youth and their families in Cheyenne but also strengthens the entire community. Students are the future, and investing in their education and well-being is also an investment in the future of Cheyenne.
“The We Got Your Back event grows every year, and you can tell how much people appreciate it,” Martin said. “I really think it’s important for Encore Electric to be present within the community in Cheyenne and give back.”
Encore Electric continues to build its workforce in Wyoming and build community-centered projects like the new University of Wyoming Residence Halls and Dining Facility.
