Team Receives McMurry Community Achievement Award by AGC Wyoming

January 28, 2025 – Lakewood, CO — Encore Electric was recently awarded the 2024 McMurry Community Achievement Award by the Associated General Contractors of Wyoming (AGC Wyoming). Encore Electric was recognized for the work done on the University of Wyoming dorms and dining facility project because of the impact it will have on the university and its students once completed.

This is the largest construction project in the University of Wyoming’s history, and it will be fully completed in time for the spring semester of 2026, with some dorms ready by the Fall semester. After construction, the campus will have a new and modern 950-bed residence hall and an 850-person dining center. Some of the amenities include upgraded security for campus safety, cutting-edge kitchen technology, and advanced electrical systems.

“It’s an honor to be a part of the first AGC Wyoming award, and to be a part of the team and project that won,” said Tyler Zubrod, Encore Electric superintendent.

Since construction, Encore Electric has worked closely with the Construction Management Program at the University of Wyoming, offering students a unique opportunity to see the work being done for their community.

“Encore Electric has a presence at career fairs along with other involvement in the Construction Management Program at UW,” said Colton Bettger, Encore Electric project manager. “The project team as a whole has given tours and talks to faculty and students in the program about the project.”

In addition to the community engagement efforts, Encore Electric also hired an intern, Zak Bailey, who is a student enrolled in the Construction Management Program and works on the project site.

“These projects will dramatically improve the housing options available to our students,” said Ed Seidel, University of Wyoming president. “These new facilities, located closer to the central campus and featuring modern design and amenities will be a significant upgrade for student life at our university.”
